Material Weight Reference

HOW MUCH DOES IT WEIGH?

Add up everything in your load and see roughly how it compares to our 14 yd³ dumpster's weight and volume limits.

Load Estimator

Add each material in your load in the unit shown — by the piece, square feet, linear feet, roofing squares, or loose cubic yards (1 yd³ = a 3 ft × 3 ft × 3 ft pile). We add them up against the standard 8,000 lb (4-ton) and 14 yd³ maximum (whichever is reached first) — some waste types have a lower maximum, shown when you book.

Measure: Loose cubic yards of torn-out carpet, rolled or folded (measure the pile, not the floor area it covered), as it sits in the dumpster — not compacted. 1 yd³ = 3 ft × 3 ft × 3 ft (27 cu ft); the dumpster holds 14 yd³.

Reference only — a planning tool, not a quote or a promise of what fits. Actual weights vary, and you are responsible for keeping your load within your booking's limits. Disposal is settled against the facility's scale ticket. See the notes below and our Terms of Service.

Important Notes

  • • A material listed here isn't necessarily accepted — the Waste Types Addendum controls. Heavy materials (concrete, dirt, rock, brick, tile, stone, plaster) and hazardous items are never accepted, in any amount.
  • • Appliances, tires (off the rim, up to 10), mattresses, electronics, and fully dried paint must be declared as Specialty Items when you book.
  • • Rain and snow add weight fast — every inch of standing water can add hundreds of pounds. Cover the dumpster when rain is expected.

Reference Only

The Load Estimator is a free planning tool. Its weights are typical figures from published sources — such as government agencies, manufacturers, and industry groups — that we do not independently verify, and your actual materials may weigh more or less. Results are approximations for reference only — not a quote, not an estimate of charges, and not a promise that a load will fit within any limit. A material listed here isn't necessarily accepted; the Waste Types Addendum shown when you book controls what may be loaded. You remain responsible for keeping your load within the weight and volume limits of your booking. After disposal, the disposal charge is settled against the facility's scale ticket, as set out in our Terms of Service and the Rental Agreement for your booking. We are not responsible for any difference between the estimator's results and the actual weight or volume of your load.
